Sales can be tough… the road can be rocky… it can be a climb.  That's the bad news… or is it?  It's the climb that makes us stronger.

There is the competition that's tougher than ever.  The economy that… (I'll save time and just say it stinks).  There are difficult clients and more.  All of these things are bumps on the road; they're the rocks in the path and the incline.  And they're all opportunities!

Now, I'm not one to dwell on the negative, so hey, let's face it, there's always good stuff too. There are our strengths; the economy is getting better and many are finding ways to thrive in it right now.  There are great clients, helpful people, friends and soooo much more! Enjoy the good stuff and don't shy away from the tough stuff.

Don't wish things were easier… wish YOU were better.  Opportunity is everywhere, if you're looking for it.

It's the tough times that make us stronger.  It's the challenges that develop our skills and strengths.  From time to time things will go our way, enjoy those times.  When it's tough, suck it up and make it happen.  Work twice as hard for half the pay, if that is what it takes.  Later you'll reap the benefits.

If nothing else you'll just be stronger.  In most cases you'll also enjoy numerous other benefits too.  In time you'll beat the competition if you have climbed more than they have. Gerta Weisman, holocaust survivor, said this (and she blew me away): "To quit, to give up, is a permanent response to a temporary situation."  Wow! Hang in there!

I know it can be tough. Believe me when I say I KNOW!  Roll up your sleeves, take a deep breath and get after it one more time.  Enjoy the good times and… don't get stuck there.  Always remember: The easy path doesn't climb.  Stop from time to time and enjoy the view and… don't get hypnotized by it.  Standing still doesn't climb either.

Abraham Lincoln once said: "Good things come to those who wait, but only the things left over by those who hustle."
